The Nook Guesthouse is a private self-catering cottage in the leafy neighbourhood of Fernwood, in the lee of Bishopscourt Hill. Our emphasis is on privacy, tranquillity, and comfort. Enjoy walking in Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, along the upper reaches of the Liesbeek River, or explore Boschenheuwel Arboretum and nearby Newlands Forest. The Constantia Vineyards and Hout Bay Valley are readily accessible. Alternatively, relax in the courtyard with a good book. And for guests who prefer not to cook, there are several recommended restaurants and bistros in easy reach. Accommodation is provided for 1-4 persons in 2 adjacent cottage apartments.

The Nook is an open-plan studio cottage with separate off-street parking, entrance, and electronic security system. It sleeps 1-2 persons, with shower & toilet en suite. The Nook is furnished and fitted to a high standard, offering percale sheets, Turkish rugs, and underfloor heating for winter pampering. Double volume ceilings maintain a cool oasis in the heat of summer. There is a pleasant dining corner, TV/CD/DVD player, and a fully-equipped provençal galley kitchen with granite surfaces, convection microwave oven, hob, and fridge. Tea and coffee facilities are provided.

The Nook opens onto a cobbled courtyard leading to The Cottage, which has a separate double bedroom, sleeping 1-2 persons, with shower & toilet en suite. French doors open onto the courtyard under a wooden vine pergola. The Cottage is suitable as additional accommodation for older children, or a second couple travelling in the same group, and is not offered separately.
Both cottages are serviced twice weekly and linen and towels are provided. Laundry service is available by arrangement.
Directions

The Nook Guesthouse, 7 Rose Street, Fernwood, Newlands, Cape Town. From the airport, take the N2 towards Cape Town. Take the M3 off-ramp south towards Muizenberg. At the Newlands Avenue intersection, turn right onto the M63 towards Hout Bay and Kirstenbosch. Turn left into Rose Street, shortly before the stone cottages opposite Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens.
